And the next day can be like this (or worse):

So we dress for all sorts of weather and simply get outside.
The girls have been playing various expedition games. The “walking stick” has become a “shooting stick,” which I really was not ready to have happen.

But the friendship continues…on bikes, with a soccer ball, holding hands, finding feathers… yes we are enjoying all of this fresh air time, even if we have to be prepared for all sorts of weather. There are rarely tears for anything except when we have to return indoors.
I just enjoy this cheerful little poem that Riana is memorizing right now:
Spring by Robert McCracken
Today is the day when bold kites fly,
When cumulus clouds roar across the sky.
When robins return, when children cheer,
When light rain beckons spring to appear.
Today is the day when daffodils bloom,
Which children pick to fill the room.
Today is the day when grasses green,
When leaves burst fourth for spring to be seen.
The girls have been extremely friendly and loving lately. I know I keep posting pictures like this, but seriously…they are just so sweet with each other. There is so much hand holding going on in these parts. I hope hope hope that they will continue to be good friends in years to come.
It looks like we will be spending the first day of spring inside…baking bread, watching snow fall, and remembering how it was sixty yesterday.
